George Nanobashvili has been working for 12 years in UNDP Georgia Country Office as Economic Development Team Leader. He has been implementing projects in inclusive rural development including governance, economic diversification, energy efficiency and alternative energy dimensions, smart villages, digitalization of SMEs, agriculture development, skills development systems (work-based learning, teachers skills, learning infrastructure, vocational standards and programs and others), private sector competitiveness, including green production, decent works agenda, quality management systems, access to market, trade  and investments promotion, technical regulations and others.  

Prior to Joining UNDP George served as head of Economic Policy and Analysis Department under the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, leading business climate reform, introduction of entrepreneurship support programmes, regulatory impact assessment, supporting DCFTA fact finding mission, reform of quality infrastructure system.

George holds MA is Economics from Tbilisi State University (International Economic Relations). His educational profile also includes completion of certificate public policy courses, international relations, development studies and trade promotion.
