Claudio Meza


Economic Affairs Officer, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

Claudio Meza is currently Economic Affairs Officer of the Cooperation and Partnerships Section of the Economic Cooperation and Trade Division in the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in Geneva. 

The UNECE is an intergovernmental body of 56 member states with a focus on developing economic standards for pan-European integration and support for the transition economies. His current responsibility is to service as Secretary of the UNECE Working Party in Public-Private Partnerships and promoting public-private partnerships for infrastructure development, where he is part of a team that develops a programme on building the capacity of governments to undertake successful PPP projects in sectors such as health, legislation, policies and institutions, railways, renewable energy, roads, and water and sanitation.

He also assists project teams in the development of PPP standards, recommendations and guidelines. 

His other interests include good governance, the promotion of an agenda for anti-corruption in infrastructure projects, the eradication of poverty, the development of international standards, and the economic aspects to peace building and security.

Before joining the UNECE, he worked for the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC). He has also worked for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the private sector.

He holds a degree on Information Systems Engineering, with post-studies on Geographical Information Systems and Project Management
