She has notably served as the head of the Universal Healthcare Program of Georgia. Dr. Maya Maghlakelidze-Khomeriki is a qualified physician specializing in internal medicine and holds a master's degree in economics. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in public health at Ilia State University, with her research focused on the effectiveness of Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) systems in both the Georgian and global healthcare contexts.
